This is my second time ever at the Aurora Farmers Market, and second time ever at the Town Park in Aurora. I know, what can I say, I am slow. It took me many years to finally attend.

May 7th, 2011 turned out to be a beautiful day, not just for the vendors at the market, but for someone who takes pictures. Good light in photography is everything.

The number of vendors was just right, but could be more.

Beautiful display of garden flowers near the intersection of Wells Street and Mosley Street.

One of the food vendors had unique booth design. It is always nice to see someone that dresses up for the event. The food looked good, it smelled good and perfect setting for the Farmers Market.

I am always fascinated with the old photographs, and for the second time I am fascinated with this vendor who sells the old photographs of Aurora. It was cool to see the old photo of the Wells St Public School just in front of the current building. I just hope that this building is not heading for demolishing.

And first time on the Farmers Market – The Friends of Petch House. The faces behind the project – Katherine (right) and Sandy (left). The driving force is Katherine, who also gave me the opportunity to photograph the current condition of the Petch house inside. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing it was to explore the over 100 years old house.

The project is definitely heading in the right direction. This house is Aurora’s treasure. As the Friends of Petch House are looking forward to open the doors of the restored house during the Town’s 150th anniversary celebrations in 2013, I am too. To find out more about the project you can visit The Friends of Petch House website.

I am living in Aurora and this is my photo journal blog. A picture says 1000 words - but not always, so I write. You don't have to travel 1000 miles to find a treasure - all I have to do is zoom through my lens and I will find it for you here in Aurora.
